About the Workshop
The Holistic Bible Study Workshop with Everyday Theologians invites you to explore Scripture with both heart and mind, where theology and interpretation work together for faithful, robust study.
Whether you are new to Bible study or a devoted student of the Word seeking to strengthen your approach, this interactive virtual workshop is designed to help you move beyond simply reading Scripture to truly understanding it. Join theologian and author Christine Carter for a guided learning experience that equips you to engage Scripture thoughtfully and faithfully.
In Part 1, we will explore Theology and Bible Study, and what it means to study Scripture holistically. Learn how theology and interpretation are interwoven, helping you study the Bible with depth, accuracy, and a theologically grounded perspective.
Then, in Part 2, Bible Interpretation for the Everyday Theologian, you will gain practical tools for interpreting Scripture accurately, and learn how their application brings clarity to complex texts. Together, we will walk step by step through a passage, learning how to handle language, context, and meaning with care. You will practice identifying figurative and literal language, understanding authorial intent, and bringing it all together for faithful interpretation and application.
Through this workshop, you will see how robust Bible study deepens worship, strengthens discipleship, and cultivates a richer understanding of God’s Word. You will leave equipped to study Scripture holistically, with both mind and heart, and with greater confidence in handling the text.
